If you're a fan of reality TV shows, then Disney's battle with Florida's Republican governor and soon-to-be presidential contender, Ron DeSantis, might pique your interest. The tension between the two powerhouses resembles the kind of drama one typically witnesses on an episode of The Real Housewives or The Bachelor.

The latest chapter in this ongoing feud involves DeSantis signing a new law that prohibits private companies from enforcing Covid-19 vaccination requirements on their employees. This comes as a blow to Disney, which had announced that it would require all of its employees to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

In response, Disney filed a federal lawsuit against DeSantis and several other state officials, arguing that the law violates a constitutional right to protect employee health. The company also alleges that the law is politically motivated and goes against science-based public health recommendations.

DeSantis, on the other hand, has defended the new law as an effort to promote personal freedom and individual responsibility. In a news conference, he accused Disney of being "anti-freedom" and argued that the company's position was hypocritical since it still did business with China, a country with a poor human rights record.
